Jared L. Michalson, MD

Jared L. Michalson, MD is a highly experienced orthopaedic surgeon specializing in orthopaedic trauma, severe fractures of the upper and lower extremities, non-healing fractures, hip and knee replacement, and revision hip and knee replacement. He welcomes patients at his office in Advanced Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists in Denver and Parker, Colorado.

Dr. Michalson grew up on a farm in north-central Iowa and earned his undergraduate degree at Creighton University, graduating with summa cum laude honors. He received his medical degree at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

He completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Dr. Michalson completed his first fellowship in orthopaedic traumatology at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He then completed his second fellowship in adult reconstruction at the University of Colorado Hospitals in Denver.

Pain and loss of motion constitute the most common effects of arthritis and fractures. Restoring function and relieving pain are Dr. Michalson’s treatment goals for his patients. He has extensive training in minimally invasive surgical techniques for both fractures and joint replacement and regularly utilizes such approaches to help achieve maximal pain relief. He also remains active in clinical research in an effort to improve patient care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Michalson enjoys spending time with his wife and family. They love the Denver area for its outdoor activities, the many dining options, and its wonderful museums. He additionally enjoys golfing and fishing in his spare time.
